I am 39 weeks pregnant and I went to teh toilet earlier and there was a big clump of white discharge, which had the texture of semen. We havent had sex in forever (it feels like) Just wondering what it could be?

It could have been the mucous plug. but then again it could of jsut been normal discharge. I have had such an increase in discharge these last couple weeks * im 38 weeks * and it is white and thicker. Doctor said its not my plug. Its Leuikora.. im not 100% on the spelling. Most women do have this towards the end. From what i have read.. when you lose your mucous plug, it has a ting of a different color in it. Like a yellow ting to it or pink brown. Not just plain white.
But Im not a expert! im a first time mommy here!! im jsut going from my experience.. You can either explain it to your doctor tomorrow morning, or if you start to get contractions i would call L n D and explain it to them unless they are regular contractions.. then get your booty up to the hospital ! :-)

that would be your mucas plug. That is what blocks the cervix so that germs from the bath and sperm and such don't get in with baby. It comes out before labour, sometimes 2 weeks before, sometimes a day before..

Could just be some ordinary discharge. I had that too. Your mucus plug will be pinkish and may even have some strings of blood. Time to get the hospital bags ready when that happens. Best wishes to you!

It's the mucus plug. Some women see it before labor and some don't. It sounds like you are getting close, congrats!

Hi, how are you? I think it could be the justy mucas. I had this when i was about due to give birth and it hought it was the "show" but apparently not. SO it could be the "show" or just mucus.
Not long for you now, you lucky thing!!

More than likely, it is your mucous plug, which keeps the cervix blocked. If this came out, more than likely, you have began dialating. Good luck and hope everything goes well!!!
