Sometimes I tend to ramble on when I get nervous, and when I do that like you said stupid things will come out. Then trying to cover up only tends to make it seem worst. Less talking is what I have found when I am around someone who makes me feel uncomfortable.

You are describing the symptom's related to Asbergers Syndrome. You can be tested quite easily usually with a referral from your primary care provider. The usual treatment is a short course of CBT {Cognitive Behavioral Therapy} to develop and support how you present thru new social skills patterns and increased awareness. Trying to 'keep a lid on it' is perhaps the worst thing you can do and will only prolong any future treatment as this will work to create inner anxiety every time you speak.

You are right just shut up! Lol just kidding!
Man you have to believe in yourself. When I was younger i use to live in my sister's shadow and hang out with older kids. Everything I said was very childish and they made a lot of fun of me because I was way out of their league. After a while I learned that hey I just had to believe in myself and make whatever I say golden and justify whatever I said. So what we all make mistakes in life and that's just the way it is we fall down and crash sometimes but we get up with experience to go another round. No matter what we do and how much we fall we always get up with scars but experience to show for it! So get up and fight another day, make no one make you feel less than a person or that you are stupid!

I can certainly sympathize. I am a person of few words around most people. With my family and friends, it's a different story, but I do know what you mean. I've never really found a solution other than to try to relax and my husband is a great buffer because he talks a lot and my conversations bounce off of his.
Well, he talks enough for both of us.

That kind of stuff does hapen sometimes with everyone. May I suggest that one: Think before you speak on any topic. Two: Take a speech class at a college near you, for a quarter or semester. Take care.

Well sometimes you may not be hanging out with the best friends that understand you, it like that if your friends know that you are like that they should not tell you to "shut up" seen they know what kind of person you are. Well i need a friend, Email is babyjesus2005@yahoo.com

always remember that the less you talk the less you make mistakes.
if you're fond of talking, try talking about sensible things. if you would read a lot, you will learn to take this talking in to your advantage. you're very opinionated so, learning would do you good.

There's an old saying that goes something like this.
Let the world think of you as an idiot instead of opening your mouth and proving it.

Wow...judging by your question you seem very talkative!
I think I would count to 5 and take a deep breath before speaking!
