2007 Truck of the Year, why do people push it?

I hear everywhere that the Silverado is better than the new Tundra because it is the 2007 MotorTrend Truck of the Year. But the thing is, the Tundra was not even TESTED by MotorTrend because they did not have one to test! Take a look:

It was not part of the testing because Toyota brought it back for an interior update! So how is the Silverado supposed to be better just because of the TOTY when it was not pitted against the Tundra?

They really messed up the front end on the Silverado.The previous model was nice but this one looks like it was hit by an ied.
