Whatever you breathe enters your bloodstream, and whatever enters your bloodstream enters your baby's bloodstream. Mold can kill if the spores are stirred up; by breathing the spores, you'll poison yourself. Don't risk it; find another place to stay as soon as you can.

Not all molds are dangerous, but to be on the safe side you can have them checked out to see if you have the bad ones by firms that do that sort of thing. If you can, have your husband wash the spores with a bleach solution, (don't add anything to the mix but bleach and water, mixing bleach with some things with cause a poison to form). Have him wear a mask. That should kill the mold, are you sure you aren't thinking of mildew? It looks the same, but isn't dangerous and you get rid of it the same way. Mildew is also in damp areas like baths and laundry's and basements. You'd have to know what kinds of mold it is before your OB could tell you if there has ever been a problem with that type.

First of all, when you say prone to mold, you either have it or you don't. Mold can only be removed professionally. No cleaners, bleach, dishsoap, whatever.... will work. My husband is a mold remediation technician, and has to work around and with mold on pretty much a daily basis. It is very harmful to everyone. Most places he goes into have to be contained and evacuated before any remediation can be done. Some people don't even realize they do have mold in their homes, or how hazardous it is to your health. Please get this taken care of asap for the health of you and your family.

You might want to check with your OBGYN or pediatrician about that one. My "guess" would be that the baby will be fine inside you, however once the baby is born it could become a problem.
