Any of the Ivies really (Harvard, Yale, Columbia, UPenn, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Princeton) although the first few (through and including UPenn) are stronger than the later ones for political science.

Duke, Stanford, and UChicago are also all good bets although Vanderbilt, The College of William & Mary, and Washington & Lee are good particularly if you're in the South. DC schools like Georgetown, American, and George Washington are all great for political science. Macalester in MN is well-known for its political science.

There's no excellent college! It's how far it is from your house, the cost, and all those sort of junk. And...yeah...it depends on where you are! But the tops for 2007 are:
1. Princeton
2. Harvard (MA)
3. Yale...?
4.-5 Stanford, etc.

6.? Duke (NC)

Lots of great possibilities--Harvard, of course, but also look into the University of Texas at Austin, which also hosts a school of public affairs.
