Actually in the earlier years both parties were economically responsible! Once the people learned they could vote largesses from the treasury the democrats began a socialism kick that has never ended. Within the last dozen years the republican party has become more and more fascist and socialist. No party stand for fiscal responsibility anymore except for the libertarians.
