The old trombone may have been electroplated to give it a gold finish and the underneath may not be very shiny after you try to polish it. You can try a product from the hardware store called Brasso. It will pollish brass as well as other metals.

the best and cheapest way to remove tarnish from brass is Bonami or Bar Keepers Friend,both cost around $1.50 get it at any store that sell cleaners, hope this helps

First, clean the brass with a sturdy brass cleanser , even if that's a relax room or kitchen fixture, you'll favor to eliminate it, then take it off .follow cear spray laquer onto the finished floor. this can quit the oxidation procedure.even if that's an old piece , i'd recommend you to have it re-finished by ability of a specialist.

I have a lot of old brass candlesticks and I use Twinkle for brass found in the grocery store. Works great!

Hi, I just asked this question to a lady at a harness shop and she told me that her father used to own a antique shop and she said he used toilet bowl cleaner and this worked best for brass Good Luck.... I would spot try it first
