Congrats on the Marquis! Quite an honor.

The overall academics at Lafayette are very good.

The student body is very preppy (popped collars), and over a third are in sororities and fraternities. (Not good points, in my opinion.)

Chances for admission into a great grad school are, in the end, entirely up to you. Lafayette will serve you as well as most midrange liberal arts colleges. Between Rutgers and Lafayette, choose Lafayette.

However, my opinion as stated in my answer to your earlier question, stands.

Don't accept until you hear from Bryn Mawr, Smith, and Wellesley, and see what they offer you in terms of scholarships and financial aid. If it comes down to Amherst, Williams, and Lafayette, go for Lafayette, since you've got the Marquis.

Oh, and one more thing. If you have not yet discovered collegeconfidential.com, go and check out the discussion threads for your colleges. I've posted the Lafayette thread below.

I wish you every success, no matter what you choose!
