He ruined his own life. Forget that no illegal acts were technically committed, the man was disgusting, chasing after teenagers at his age - and at the same time having the nerve to serve as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. Nothing like exploiting teen pages and sending them suggestive IMs so once they reached the age of consent he could well...we all got the idea.
