i know there is a point at which on is legally considered a "genious", but what IQ is considered to be genious?

There is no legal point at which one is considered a genius. In fact "genius" is a term that generally refers to one's ability in a given area. You could be astounding in your mathematical abilities, a math genius, but have great difficulties in even spelling. IQ tests are more universal. If you score low on verbal skills but high on reasoning skills you could have an average IQ but still be a genius. Furthermore, none of the IQ tests deal with social skills. They may seem trivial until you find you can't communicate an idea no matter how brilliant it may be.
Generally, 130-135 is the cut off for genius. Some expectations are higher. Also, the general variance for scores is +/- 5 points. When the scores are above 135 the variance is closer to +/- 15 points. It's just harder to gauge and harder to define at higher levels.

Anything over 160 is considered genious. Einstein had an IQ of 197. Over 200 is almost unheard of. Average is around 90-115, but essentially the average IQ is considered to be 100. 85 or below is considered....excuse the expression, "retarded."

Based on the Wexler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), the most commonly used adult IQ test, a score of 100 is considered average. A score of140 represents 2% of the population and is designated as genius level.

at one time it was 220 plus but now with the growing brainiacs it is lowering to I think around 180. and in a few more years it will drop to 150.
I think the Mensa group is minimum of 200.
My IQ was measured at only 135 and I feel normal. However it's all in how you use it.

I dunno, but I have a "130+" according to an IQ test. x_x I really tried to do bad, too.
