They are tied just the same way you would do your shoelace, only you don't start with a knot first....

The absolute easiest way is to make two small rabbit ears close together, and then just do the around the tree and through the loop thingy with one of them. Then pull both ears gently.

Those bows in the picture are made with really fine ribbon (you can tell by the small amount of threads in the width),

When you have the bow made, just pinch the ears until they lay flat.
