The war is myered because of congress. This fight could have and should have been over within the first year. Two at most. But, congress sent us in and then turned their backs on our soldiers and our country and our President.
Had congress supported the action they voted to take, we and the Iraqi people would not have lost (and still loosing) so many lives.
Bush was left holding the bag. He could not have ordered our soldiers out of Iraq the minute congress through in the towel. There were WMDs. Congress knew it, the President knew it, our intellegence and several other countries intellegence knew it and the Kurds knew it. He had used chemical weapons on his own people and was working on, or perhaps already had, biological weapons. The question is. Who took them out of the country while Saddam was holding back the UN inspectors?
Congress -both sides- started this 'hatred of the war', 'Bush lied', 'the war was personal', 'it was a set-up by the adminastration', crap for personal political gain and the public hopped onto the band wagon. If we had all stood behind the effort, the middle east would know we were serious about protecting our country, and the fight would be over. Not the war, but this fight. This war will not be over in our lifetime.
If indeed, the US is 'hated' as some claim, it is because of propaganda from our own people and our own congress. It is disgraceful the way Americans are acting today; the things they say to the world about America; their own country.
I am deeply wounded by this, as are many others who see the truth of the mess and how it came to be.

The Democratic Party. If they would just lighten up and let our troops do what they were trained to do (like unleashing their real power), we would be finished already.

And props to you for using the word "morass!" You're the first person outside of my Latin class that I've heard to use it ^_^ (Here's a phrase you might like: "paludal morass"....it means basically the same thing as "morass", but it's stronger ^_^)

You can't blame the quagmire in Iraq on a political party anymore than you can blame it on America. Iraq is the result of the short sightedness of a single man, George Bush.

Democrats because they force the military to fight a politically correct war and Bush and the GOP are afraid to stand up to them.
