I'm getting a new laptop and I'm pretty sure that the operating system on it is Windows Vista. What is that and why don't the new computers have Windows XP? What's the difference between them? I'm seriously confused!

there r many patches missing in vista ...like u cant run some applications on vista but u can on XP ...so u should go for some "Vista -compatible laptop" which runs on XP and u can upgrade it to vista when microsoft releases complete vista..

Windows Vista is just another type of operating system for windows computers, an upgrade of sorts. Like how it used to be Windows 95, then went to 98, then to Milleniuim (ME)...

I used to be a user of XP, but then about a month ago I got a new computer with the Vista operating system. It is different, so you'll have to learn a few new things. But it isn't so different that you'll have to use a guide to know what you're doing. It's fairly easy to make the XP-Vista transition. Plus, in my opinion Vista is nicer looking :)

Nowaday Windows Vista is now the "new computer program" for all new computers. But so you know "Windows Vista sucks" and is not worth having! If you get a new computer that has Windows Vista in it...make sure u buy (or share from your friends or someone) & install Windows XP instead! Believe me it's much better!

Hi. Vista is not yet a mature OS, but I'm sure Microsoft will fix any problems as quickly as possible. Their business depends on it. Vista is flashier, WinXP is more mature.
