Lying is worse, fibbing is like a white lie - the truth, but not the whole truth.

I always thought a fib was just a little lie that was meant to not be so damaging as I lie! It is like lying by omission instead of a direct out and out right lie! You are all correct in say a lie is a lie is a lie is a lie!!!

Same thing. Different way of saying it. Still, fibbing is usually said to children when they lie and when children lie their lies aren't usually as bad as when adults lie so I guess lying is worse.

A fib is a small, harmless lie (for example: "how are you doing today?" "Fine"). A lie on the other hand is more outright and usually involves something more important.

They are both the same, both aren't so good, honesty is always the best policy, as people find out the truth sooner or later anyway.
