I turned it on today and it made this weird sound and stopped and I tried to turn it back on and it doesn't work.

The belt that turns the drum is probably broken.

check your venting,if it is blocked the dryer will shoot a thermal fuse and it will not come on also it might have tripped your breaker or shot a fuse in the house, depending on if you want it repaired it will cost $65 for labor,$20 for the thermal fuse, we sell used dryers for $100 and new will cost $249. new, so its really what you want to do to fix the dryer. if it is new may be under warranty and you should contact the place where you got it. good luck.

It could be your heating element as well when mine went it made the same noise it only cost me $3 to replace very easy 2 get 2 as well.Good Luck
