they always say that the first pregnancy takes the longest to "feel" because the mother doesn't recognize the sensation. i think the baby is only a few inches long at that point, and depending on how thin you are, sometimes you just feel a little whoosh of bubbles like gas or something.
legs and arms into your ribs and being able to see the movement on you belly is a ways off.
but DO contact your doctor for the best advice- after discussing the different feelings with you they might want to check the heartbeat. sometimes people put something cold on their belly to stimulate movement. i remember my second used to "dance" to loud music in the car!
take care!

I don't think you should be worried. First babies are usually not felt until 20-24 weeks - the doctor should be checking for a heartbeat at each prenatal visit, and he/she will ask you if you have felt any movement when it is the right time. Second and subsequent babies are felt earlier, because mums recognise the movements and also I think that their muscles may be looser so they can feel more.

Well, this is my third and I would feel movements earlier than you would. With my first one, I believe it was around 21 weeks. You will know it cause it feels like a flutter. So no' you should not worry and it all depends in your weight also. Just give it some time.

With the first baby, I wasn't sure he moved until 20 weeks. Once he moved and I really knew, I felt like I just didn't recognize it before.

It can take a little while. I know that you are anxious, but try to be patient. I didn't feel any real movements until about 22 weeks, but this is my first pregnancy and that is pretty normal. Try not to worry.

Well i would ask your doctor... but not to worry it might start to move later as it begins to grow to make room for itself in the stomach.
