The mint mark is incused on the edge of the coin, together with other familiar things like "E Pluribus Unum", the date, and the motto "In God We Trust". View this image :

It is on the edge of the coins mint mark and in god we trust should be there. some coins have got out of the mints without anything on the rim they are errors

the president dollars have an engraving on the side it says the mint, year, and moto.
