for the first one
we calculat the area of the "L" wich devided on two rectangles s1 = (12-5) x12 = 84cm²
and s2=(12-5)x5 =35cm²
L=s1+s2=119cm²
imaginate that this L "go down" (it means L repeat itself 17cm times) then volume of this shape is
v=Lx17cm=119cm²x17cm²=????cm³
--------
in the fig 2
we have at first:
the triangle surface
St=(40x60)/2=1200cm² ( like a rectangle with tall=60 and waith=40 and we devide it in two part)
-the volume of the hight shap (same thing imagine that this triangle "go down"
V1=St x 68cm= 1200cm²x68cm=????..cm³
on second we have a circle ...
(Rayon"r":the half diametter d ) d²=(40)²+(30)² (trigonometrical law of right (90 degree)triangles)
gives d=root squared of «(40)²+(30)²»
then u find r wich equal at d/2 then u calculate
the circle surface witch equal at:
Sc=r²xpi=????..cm² (pi=22/7=3.14)
the volume of this cylinder
V2=Sc x 48cm=??????...cm³
the total volum of the hole shape is
V=V1+V2=????cm³
.....

Oh my gosh, that toke forever. For the first figure, surface area is 1054cm^2 (i'm not sure if it's squared or not) and the volume is 2023 cm^3. For the second figure,
40800+30000(pie)= Volume. Using pie, 135,047.7796... or using 3.14 it's 135,000.

I'm one hundred percent sure on my answers. I've chcked them 3 times.

I have an answer for the first one; the second one has me stumped.

SA:
17*12*2=408
(12*12)-(5*5)=119*2=238
17*5*4=340
408+238+340=986

Volume:
(12*12)*17-2(5*5)=2398
