What is the smallest chicld that is compatible with a chinese algae eater?

I like colorful fish but if that meansnot samll fish thatsok and what is the reccomendec tank size for that fish anything helps

shell dwellers are tiny less than 2" and they can live with chinese algae eaters, they are tanganikyan and pretty colourful, blues and yellows, thier are a few species that are good but you can keep four or six of then in a ten gallon no sweat

Their high activity levels can make things difficult for cichlids that are too small - so I wouldn't recommend anything less then 5 inches long or so, once grown.
