I like all 6 but the original trilogy will always be my favorites.

Anyone who says that the best Star Wars was any of the recent Episodes I-III doesn't know what they're talking about.

The Best Star Wars of all time...hands down, is Empire Strikes back. Boba Fett is the most bad-*** character EVER. Not to mention the entire Hoth sequence, the chase through the Asteroid field, finding out that Vader was Luke's father, Yoda ("...THAT is why you fail."), the first appearance of the Emperor and Darth Vaders super star-destroyer, Han Solo frozen in Carbonite...the list goes on and on and on.

Everything was downhill after Empire. First the Ewoks came along, and then JarJar. All of it crap.

The best Star Wars movie ever has to be Episode III. The older movies are good but their technology and ships are poor. The third one has the best music, plot, characters, planets, and ships. The last battle with Anikin and Obi-Wan is the coolest one. The last three movies have poor Jedi fights witch are the best parts. It also has the space war in the begging witch owns all the other movies.

Depends on your opinion. Episode IV, A New Hope was the most landmark (and still the highest grossing), but I feel Empire Strikes Back is the better all around film, although Return Of The Jedi has the most satisfying ending. Yet, Revenge Of The Sith is the most emotional, due to it being the most violent and darkest of all the films (the good guys loose really big in that one).

So, my vote goes to Empire.

Best ?
Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope.

First Sci-Fi movie I saw in the theater. Nothing like it and years ahead of the competition at the time.
You got everything from it:
-Visuals
-Cast
-Robots
-Starships and crazy looking vehicles
-Crazy looking aliens
-Crazy sounds
-Crazy saber fights and weapons
-Some crazy dark-clothed half-robot-half-man named "Darth Vader" or something like that
-Storm troopers - Who are they? Who's inside those white helmets?
-"The Force" what kind of religion is that ?
is it a religion? or just a a rock group "Jedi" ?

Anyway, without the first installment there couldn't be any more after that.
Lucas once said: "I decided to make Star Wars Episode IV the first movie because IT HAD EVERYTHING: Action, suspense, romance and fear. More action than anything around."

The Empire Strikes Back.
The Hoth battle scene is on of those movie sequences that has never been duplicated and is prevalent in just about every video game Lucas has released. Plus it was the first to introduce Yoda, Boba Fett, and Lando. It revealed who Luke's father was.
Allowed a main character to be kidnapped and another to lose a hand. Freaking Awesome movie.

Empire Strikes Back, with A New Hope second. They're the most solid movies. Return of the Jedi is not quite as good and was marketed to kids instead of intended to be a story with Campbellian overtones/proper hero's journey (it works, but not as well as the previous two movies.)

The prequels are uniformly pretty bad when compared to the original trilogy.

A New Hope!!!

I'm old school and that was the first Star Wars film I ever saw and it was the start of my lifelong love with the franchise. I was thoroughly disappointed with the newer ones. I just don't feel that Lucas was faithful to his creation. I mean, Jar Jar? Come on. Anyway, I love the first time we saw Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, R2D2, CP3O...and, of course, Darth Vadar.

And, it has the best ending. I always cheer when Han swoops in and allows Luke to make the shot that destorys the Death Star. I LOVE HAN!!!

I like Empire Strikes back the best. Its more high tech than Star Wars and not as Hollywood as Jedi.
