What is the most possible thing that happened? It was working properly and suddenly stopped. What could have caused this?

1. Check your breaker box
2. Check fuse box
3. Unplug AC, check electrical outlet, plug something else in like a hair dryer, to check outlet
4. Call a professional

Along with the breaker or the fuse that may be tripped, go pull out the breaker/fuse near the air conditioner. This happened to us and it was a spider and some bugs who had made a nest in the fuse/breaker box. Next to that go turn your thermostat on and off at a lower setting and then call the Air conditioning service if none of that works.

Look for a tripped breaker, it could have a disconnect by the condensor with fuses in it. If the fan will run but the unit won't put out cold air check for a dirty air filter. There are many possibilites but these are common.

What kind of AC unit? A window unit or central air? Sorry I need more info. If it is a central air unit does the indoor blower work? Does the outside cond. unit fan motor run?
