I'm attending a funeral in South Carolina this week - I haven't been to one in a long time, and don't know what I should wear. I am 22, if that helps, so I don't want to look like a grandma, but at the same time I want to look very appropriate. What can I wear that will be appropriate?

I too believe you can wear anything as long it is not a costume of something sexy. Wearing black to funerals, in a lot of areas, is passe. \when my mother died I wore a lovely burgundy suit. I note that some people wear jeans a lovely shirt and jacket so as long as you are not being disrespectful wear something that suits you and if happens to be dark that is ok too. I have worn red to funerals. It is also applicable to think of whom you are honoring at the funeral.

i have self assurance you may positioned on some thing as lengthy that's not a dress of a few thing eye-catching. donning black to funerals, in a lot of parts, is passe. I note that some human beings positioned on jeans a stunning blouse and jacket so see you later as you at the prompt are not being disrespectful positioned on some thing that suits you and if occurs to be darkish it truly is superb too. I actually have worn pink to funerals. that's likewise suited to imagine of whom you're honoring on the funeral.

maybe you should wear a black long sleeve shirt with a nice 2-3 button jacket with either a long penciled skirt or even casual black pants. not jeans not that appropriate. thats just me oh and maybe a pair of boots under the pants. also i think a skirt is more appropriate for a funeral.

Last January 4th, My dad died so a funeral was in order. I did not wear all black. To depressing. I wore cream colors and I looked great. I didn't look like a grandma. Just go looking your best. Take care and I am real sorry about your loss.

I would go for a dark, knee-length skirt (preferably black). As for a top, maybe a pretty black top of some sort? I wouldn't wear anything sleeveless, unless you have a cardigan or a shawl to cover your shoulders. As for accessories, makeup, and shoes, keep it toned down. The focus of the day should be on the deceased, not on your outfit.

Look in your closet for something longer and covers everything including shoulders and cleavage. If an older group of people will be around I would definitely stick with a black dress or skirt because that was tradition in thier time.

actually you should ask the family....(sometimes these days funerals have themes...) if not, then something gray, white or drk blue (not so much black these days either), pants/slacks, nice sweater or blouse, or skirt combo...jacket or not, depending on the weather...low heels or flats...whatever is comfortable and you can walk in grass in, if you go to the cemetary...(don't look like a gypsy, no big 60's flowers..it's a time to mourn, but also to remember and respect people....)

Wear a modest black skirt with a black shirt. If you don't like black, wear a dark brown or navy blue. Wear your hair down or in a ponytail, and keep make up at a minimum.

A black pant suit is appropriate with a white blouse underneath. Or a black skirt suit with a pencil skirt.

Obviously black & a a skirt is more appropriate for the situation. Also wearing a black hat (if you have one) gives a repectable look. Sorry for your loss :(
