I know I've seen it before, but I cant remember what particular south-eastern asian country it was in. I believe it is a kind of fishing boat, however I could be completely mistaken. It is typically covered by a short roof. Top down it looks like a rectangle (fairly long, and some-what wide), and from the sides it looks like a thin half oval. I can't find any photos of it at the moment.

For the record, we already know pretty much how we are going to build it (for a card-board/duct-tape boat project) but we want to find some photos to refer to for coloring and certain features, mainly the shape and construction of the roof, to keep authenticity.

Well what do you know I checked the Chinese junker, and it was fairly close to what I've been thinking of! I'm going to use that as a refferance, thanks!

I believe you might be talking about the traditional Chinese riverboats. When they are loaded they look like they will submerge at any moment? i.e. no free-board. The operator, his family and crew will live on board. I tried to 'google' it but only came up with cruises.

Good Luck

The most popular type of boat seen in the SE Asian waters was a sampan. They were flat bottomed and could have a small covered section, made of wood. We saw many off the coast during Viet Nam.

Chinese junk, perhaps? They are used extensively in SE Asian countries for fishing, houseboat, and ferrying people across narrow and wide expanses of water.
