My baby is suffering from cough and flu with lots of phlegm and mucus, while I'm a sufferer of eczema. What type of humidifier should I buy? I'm staying in S'pore.

You can get a whole house humidifier installed. They are only about $60 and have someone install it for you. A plumber or electrician could do it, or call you HVAC man.
In the meantime the Vick humidifiers work well for one room and our doctor recommended one for our child when they are sick. I know how a dry house can make sickness even worse.

In my opinion the steam vaporizers work best for illness. They often have a special reservoir for adding menthol or other medicinal scents that some people find helpful. The vaporizer type will not make a mess by dispersing chemicals if your water supply is loaded with them like mine is.

(We used to have an ultrasonic humidifier. Worked wonderful, quiet and cheap. But the room would get white deposits everywhere from our mineral laden water.)

for that kind of problem I suggest you buy
Negative ioniser. Negative ions have been referred to as ‘vitamins’ in the air.

- Emits over 2 million negative ions/cc*.
- Cluster-ions technology allows negative ions to be emitted even up to 3 metres*.

Steam only! Cool mist ones can harbor germs.
