I have one of those self-lighting furnaces. Would it save me money to turn it off or should I just turn the thermostat to its lowest?

Turn it to its lowest setting. It might also be doing your hot water and needs to stay on for that. Besides a little heat inside it will keep it dry enough to keep rust away.

In Northeast we had a stretch in the 60's last week and the last three days it has been 20F. So you might not be not done with cold weather yet.

Turn the thermostat to it's lowest because we are going to have more cool weather. There is blackberry winter and Easter weather to come. It always turn cool for Easter, and again for blackberry winter.

I would leave it set real low. What if you were to go away or perhaps were injured or stranded while travelling and the temperatures dropped? This way you don't have to worry about your pipes freezing.
