College softball course?

Okay I was looking through my class schedule book for summer courses and ran across a class under the physical education section called "Softball". Would a course on softball just be like strategy of the game, or would it be like demensions of the field and stuff like that or would they actually let us get out on the field and play?

A course in softball would teach you the rules of the game and how to play. How to hit and throw. Things like that. and since it is under physical education, you would get to play.

If its under physical education you just learn how to play the game.
