Press F8 during boot up (before Win98 splash screen).
Select safe mode from the menu.
or,
Press and hold the Ctrl key during boot up.
Select safe mode from the menu.
Click on Start, Programs, Accessories,System Tools, System Information.
On the tools menu, click on System Configuration Utility.
Click Advanced then click to select Enable Startup Menu check box.
Click OK at both prompts.
Restart computer at the prompt.
Select Safe Mode from the menu during the restart.
or
Insert a non-bootable floppy into the floppy drive.
Restart the computer.
When you receive the "non-system disc or disc error. Replace and strike any key when ready." error message, remove the floppy disc from the drive.
Press F8. The Windows Startup Menu should appear.
Select safe mode from the menu.

boot up. hit the f8 before the windows logo (splash screen) comes up. this works in all versions of windows. you will get a menu. pick safe mode.

close down the laptop completely first. Then, initiate it up after a minute or so. look on the show screen whilst it rather is commencing up. There must be an strategies show screen. Then merely push the quantity button that corresponds with the boot many times. If that would not artwork, you have gotten an outbreak. wish this helps.

press F8 key when it starts up, just keep pressing it from when you turn it on.
also try holding down the control key instead of pressing F8
