I have wondered the same thing. I also see the same in Football. I belive that the media started hating the Buckeyes back when Woody was coaching football and he was so hard on the media that it ave the school a bad rep. Also in basketball Ohio State is not a powerhouse (yet) and the media does not like the success from non powerhouse(yet) schools. Hopefuly the Buckeyes can win the championship and shut up the sportscasters and all the people answering questions on yahoo answers from saying that they are overrated and the team is only Greg Oden.

OSU has a bad rep for being an athletic factory as opposed to being a reputable learning facility (as pertains to it football and basketball students). saw somewhere on the web that only 10% of incoming freshmen (men's) basketball players ever graduate. that's lame

They underestimate them and dislike them because of their freshman and sophomore players. They favor Florida because of their senior guards and forwards. Ohio State should get lots of credit for being such a good team. I guess anyone with Greg Oden is a good team!!!!!!!

Cause they almost (should have) lost to Xavier. I mean if that guy had hit the free throw, OSU would have lost that game. They got a lucky break, but they arent gonna get lucky like that again.

Everybody perceives their team is being slighted by the sportscasters. I've broadcast games where both sides thought I was pulling for the other team. We only root for close games which makes for better broadcasters.
