Typical yeast infection symptoms for a vaginal infection are:

intense vaginal itching - the MAIN symptom
vaginal burning and irritation
pain during urination
pain during sexual intercourse
abnormal vaginal discharge
Discharge color can vary from thick white or light-gray. Consistancy is often described as similar to 'cottage-cheese' although often it may be watery.

Thick cottage cheesy discharge and severe perineal itching. If you think you have one you need to see a doc to be sure this is what you have as many infections have similar symptoms. Do let an infection go untreated as some can cause pelvic inflammatory disease.
