The face on the U.S. dime in 1914 was a personification of lady liberty. The dime, commonly known as the "Barber" dime, named for the engraver, Charles Barber, was in circulation until 1916. After 1916, the obverse was a winged mercury design. This was in circulation until the death of President Roosevelt, when in 1946, his likeness was used on all dimes up to today.

It was called the Barber Dime and on one side had a Liberty head with cap and wreath reminiscent of Roman and Greek coins. On the opposite side, just a wreath.
