She left her job last year to take care of her ill husband who has terminal cancer. She moved to his town and now there is a nice job opening nearby. He is stable now, but will begin new treatments soon. She is going house crazy.

Sure she should. Taking a job doesn't mean she doesn't care or won't be there for him. I think she should just to stay sane if nothing else. that has to be hard for her.

Absolutely! She's going stir crazy from sitting home for a year, his condition is stable and cancer treatments are very expensive! She could use a return to the outside world and they could use the money, so she should definitely take a job!

the real question in her mind might be if it's fair for an employer to hire somebody just to have them quit within 2 weeks or a month or 2 months? After paying for training and what not.

It's up to her, if her husband is fine after the new rounds of treatments, then go for it. If not, there are other things your sister could do to keep her from going crazy.

Yes of course she should go back to work now . BUT she should also still be there for and with her husband as much as possible too. When she is not working she needs to be with him as much as possible so she still is supporting him as a wife should. Tell her to take the job and be there for him as much as possible when she is not working. Good luck to her and her husband and I hope all goes well with her and I will be praying for her husband as well. My heart goes out to them. Here comes lots of long distance hugs their way today. She sure is being a wonderful wife to him and she may need a release in the job at times to get away from the stress at times so she can clear her head and mind as well. This way when she comes home to him she will be refreshed and ready to be with him through all of this as well. She will be a better person for it.

It's up to your sister if she is ready to do back to work yet, she has been dealing with an emotional roller coaster and her being there for her husband during this whole time is what has probably kept him going.
