Yes, it was good. If you listen to his radio program the live event gives you more details in order of the baby steps. On his radio program he gets calls that jump all over the baby steps (can't predict live radio :).
Also, he gives the attendees good discounts on his products at the event, if you don't have the information.
The total money makeover is "new" it has new stories but the outline is the same (according to Dave). Dave says if you own the older version of the total money makeover, don't buy the new one because not enough changed for the current owners. He had to update the book to keep it on the NY Times best seller list (this is all per him on his radio show)>
BTW- we think he is great. Common sense that got us on track financially and traveling in the same direction!

I haven't been because he hasn't come to my area. I'd love to see him live.
You can view the live event online through his website if you live in an area where there isn't a huge Dave Ramsey presense, like the Northeast where I live. Just go to his website and click on the link to See Dave Live.
