I used Priceline.com and ended up at the Holiday Inn Merchandise Mart for under $100. We had an incredible view looking down the Chicago River at the Sears Tower. Seriously one of the best views I've ever had. I was very pleased with Priceline. I bid on 3-star. When you use Priceline, you won't be booked in a nice view room, so make sure you ask for it when you check in.

Unless you luck out with a discount service, you won't find that good of a hotel cheaply in the downtown area. There are many nice hotels out by O'Hare (in Rosemont, Schiller Park, Park Ridge and the far northwest side of the city itself) in the $100 - $150 range, but you're likely to pay at least $150 (and often over $200) downtown unless it's a last minute deal.

A place I personally like a lot that seems like what you want is Embassy Suites at the Rosemont Convention Center. Its regular public rates can be as low as $99 a night (plus parking), it's a very nice hotel, and it is just a short walk (or a shuttle ride) from the Rosemont 'L' station.

Parking downtown is like 30 funds on your first 1/2 hour so it receives expensive. lodges are often round 30 an afternoon or so. i'd recommend preventing in the suburbs and parking at a pay lot or only a food market or inn automobile parking zone and taking the metra into the city, in undemanding words about a 35 minute experience from naperville.
