Hes not a loser. the child dosent know him. The mother wont let us see him. We pay like 500 dollars in child support. OH YEAH THE CHILD CALLS A NOTHER MAN DAD! But yet the mother flips out ove me saying i was his step mom. Theres allways a lot of arguing because all she wants is money all the time but wont even let us have him for more that an hour. And that was like over a year ago. Dont call someone a loser when you dont even know the whole story behind it! The mother wants her husband to adopt the child.

a friend of mine is going through this now.

She is married and her daughter's father has never been in her life. She is seeking for him to terminate his rights so that her husband (the child's REAL daddy...not the sperm donor) can adopt her.

In SC, it costs about $5000. You pay $2500 for your lawyer and the biological father has to split the cost of the court appointed lawyer for the child which is around $5000, therefor the $5000 total.

Sometimes giving up rights is the best thing that you can do. If you are never going to see the child, then it is best to get out of the picture and allow someone else to fill the daddy role.

You have to get a lawyer, it's pretty easy. Lot's of losers sign their rights over. I say losers because I believe in raising my offspring. If a divorce is the reason I can't raise my offspring than I would damn well make sure I was part of that childs life through shared parenting. At no point in time would I give up on my children. Does this make any sense? You make a kid you take care of that kid, if something gets in the way you get a lawyer.
