I just downloaded the AVG anti-virus system and it says "date of internal virus database is incorrect" with a little red exclamation next to "anti-Virus"....what does this mean?

Like they said you need to do an update. What that term means is that the Virus Definitions are out of date
in other words a viral database dated 3/10/07 will not detect a virus released on 3/11/07
that is why it is important to schedule your updates and scans for a daily basis

I have set mine to update a 3AM and scan at 4AM (i have about 200,000 files and the scan takes about 2hrs)

It means you need to update your virus database. In the control center, click "check for updates".
