Depends. A NIcer card with 256 Mb of ram could outperform a cheaper card with 512Mb. Take into account Which interface (is that right??) the ram is like 128 or 256 bit. How fast it is or the clock speeds. What version of direct X it uses. Make sure to get a reputable brand. A video card is not somthing to cheap out on.

STOP ANSWERING IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

Most modern mid to high end graphics cards are 256, the very expensive ones are 512 or 768.

It doesnt matter how much memory the card has, its what the card is. There are 5 year old cards that have 256 megs of memory on them and they won't run Half Life 2 decently, and modern cards with 128 can run any game thats out now really well. You need ot learn a thing or two abotu video cards, its not just the memory on them that shows how fast they are.

Start at www.tomshardware.com or any other computer hardware related website for info on everything computer related including what makes up a video card, or just search google.

Hi. A 256 MB card may work for you if the price is right. For the ULTIMATE gaming machine go with the best cards (SLI) you can afford.

No. they 2 GB of RAM is positioned on the equipment board of the computer. Video RAM is positioned on the video board. generally a video card with its own memory is unable to get correct of entry to the equipment board memory. Doing so may make the video card crawl and be ineffective.

I would recommend spending the money on a few spelling lessons instead.
