In a perfect world the Peace Corps has the right idea.
that has always been a major goal of theirs -- and it's basic enough that it SHOULD work -- although it doesn't for lots of different reasons. . .
The solution is education.
The solutions is showing people how to farm the land, how to kill small game and prepare it and cook it. . .it's basic human skill. . . .but the world is all urban now. . .and people think they know it all. . . And in "third world countries" -- they don't want to learn anything from us -- they've lived in the jungle their whole life with their own set of rules. . .do you REALLY think they want to learn how to use a condom (just an example) to keep pregnancy and maybe AIDS infection to a minimum from some 22 year old white American girl that just traveled to their country because she thought she "was going to make a difference"
I am not trying to be mean or attack anyone. . .
People as a whole don't want to be educated. Whether they can see that or not. . ..

I don't think the world hunger problem can be solved, as you mean the word solved. When a society has enough food, they breed more people, it is the natural order of things. There will always be more people than there will be food for them because as we get more, we breed more to use up the excess. At some point there will be a correction, many people will die from whatever cause, and then the whole thing will start over again.

I'd use education, where student loans include food and shelter costs.
"If a hungry child fails to eat today, that hungry child dies tonight. However, if the hungry child eats today, then we still have a hungry child tomorrow. We cannot end hunger without food, but food alone won’t solve the problem... In addition to food, we must utilize education. Education is the silver bullet required to rid the world of the vampire that is hunger." -Scott Hughes

Food production wise, it could be solved in a couple of days.
Many countreis intentiosnally produce LESS than they can because of economics.
I don't think it is solved without some kind of socialist approach and I don't see how that's gonna happen.
