1) Immigration - Nothing else has a better shot of literally tearing the country in half.
2) Poverty - Everybody has an opinion on how it can be solved, but nobody can implement anything successful.
3) Education - Our country is/was the envy of the world, yet our place in the education rankings is sliding. Lower standards and misguided Standardized Testing are to blame.
4) Taking Care of Your Own - People are losing the initiative to take action themselves, and seem to be relying on welfare. It's not a terribly widespread problem, but it is draining on the system.
5) Racism - Has no place in a modern society, but it's not as widespread as most people believe.
6) Foreign Relations - We have a history of dealing with foreign troublemakers.
7) Health Care - The system seems backwards and stupid, but nobody can offer a better alternative.
8) Iraq - Divisive inside our country, but overseas, things are going well. It'll be over in a few years, and most people will be grateful for the democracy that will be installed.

I guess 8, taking care of our own. I would add the New World Order as the biggest threat to America and the US Constitution that has ever come along. Anyone who hasn't made the connection between the illegal immigration situation, the North American Union, Globalization and the New World Order yet, is falling asleep at the wheel of this representative Democracy. By the time they wake up the constitution of the North American Union will have superseded the US Constitution and we'll be living under a global corporate government.

1. Bird Flu
2. Climate Change and Clean Energy ("An Inconvenient Truth")
3. Environment
4. Health
5. HIV/AIDS
6. Human Smuggling and Trafficking
7. Humanitarian Assistance
8. Visas and Immigration
9. Science and Technology

However, I thinks they've left out WMD (be it CBW or Nukes), and it should be one of the top three. Thus any one of the top three, if not taken care of will kill us all, i.e.:
1. Pandemics (Bird Flu).
2. Global Warming.
3. Spread of WMD (CBW or Nukes).

we are in 6 wars. companies are finding out to purchase the government, regulation by regulation. we are tourtering our very own voters with out trial, and the midsection classification of disappearing swifter than the money left to run the government. the government can no longer extremely do something approximately it, it takes mentioned voters who quite care approximately themes and a media that doesn't attempt to spin each and every thing.

The problem is, most of your issues are all caused by one major issue: The shift in this country towards socialism/fascism. Many believe someone else should help cover their medical bills. Many believe others need to help the poor. Many believe the government should regulate education. Many think immigrants take their "share" of socialized programs. Many think racist thoughts should be illegal. All of these people turn to the government to "fix" it. This is the biggest issue to fix: These people.
