Actually, I'm not even sure I'm getting one. I was driving with an adult and I get to an intersection and the light turns yellow. And the adult begins to scream for me to stop. But by the time I stop, I'm way passed the intersection lane and just went on before the light turned red..but there was one of those cameras there and the adult was making a big deal about how I was going to get a ticket or something...Can someone help me understand?

The tickets from those cameras are issued to the person to whom the car is registered to, based on the license plate number.

The meaning of Stop Light colors are typically interpreted as follows.:
Green: Proceed through the intersection.
Yellow: Do not proceed through the intersection and prepare to stop.
Red: Stop, do not proceed through the intersection.
