I have a couple hours to come up with some comments on the economical structure at Fed Ex. I am taking a managment class and I am lost. I am hoping that someone may have some helpful advice for me. I also have to do a paper on my company's organizing structure and this Fed Ex thing is killing me!! Thank you for any helpful words!!

FedEx, unlike UPS or any of the other package shipment companies, is an agglomeration of several companies acquired over time.

As a result, its financial structure is that of a loose confederation of 14+ companies, including the old RPS (now FedEx Ground) and Viking Freight (now FedEx Freight). The original company, FedEx Express, is associated with the overnight letter and small package delivery, and is still the main cash cow for this ever-growing firm.
