Thinking about getting an Epiphone SG, as opposed to a Gibson SG.

I had a Epiphone SG & I now have a Gibson SG...The Gibson was a bit better & as mentioned in another answer, Gibsons are made in the USA & the Epiphones are made in Korea. The wiring is much better in the Gibson SG and action is much better than the Epiphone, however Epiphone guitars are decent guitars for the money if you don't have $1000+ to spend on a Gibson!

Usually different electronics, and Gibson uses a little better craftsmanship. But all in all the Epiphone is not a bad alternative if you can't afford the Gibson

Gibsons are made in the USA. Epiphones (by Gibson) are imported. That is why the cost is drastically different.
