I get the feeling the asker was ungrateful and got their answer and couldn't care less about the people who helped them. However I don't feel BAD if I get a best answer through voting-because at least it shows that some people considered it a quality answer.

I agree, however, you can't make other askers to pick your answer as the best answer since each asker does things differently.

Yes I agree with you completely. And it shows the Asker is really interested in the responses they get. And knowing your answer is what they were looking for is gratifying.

It's better when the asker chooses, but it all depends on how many votes you get. The more the merrier.

sadly a lot of askers never go back and award best Answer, kinda like being in a chat room with no reward.

Dont feel that way I vote often and the thing that i noticed is that the answerer is anonymous so you can't vote based on avatars or gender ,so the responses are weighed solely on their on content .It wasn't my buddy or the flirt but people that choose your answer as the best reply.Buzzzzzz on
