Politics is ruining the world, not the average citizen. Americans aren't infidels, but the US Government may be. American people arent bad according to Chavez. With the most recent interview by Barbara Walters, he likes Americans, just despises our government. He's entitled to his opinion. What are your thoughts, will our government be in better hands with a new president? Or will they just have to spend 4 or 8 years fixing our current problems. Will foreign policy play a big role, or will it slow down? i'm curious to gather your answers. Let's face it, i dont there is any one more hated in this world than our very own president.

Who says the US is not well off? Every economic indicator is positive, much to the chagrin of the left.
This latest scare story of how mortgage companies are killing the american dream and how millions of homeowners are going to become homeless is just another attempt by the liberal press to make you think that, despite YOUR affluence, that everyone else is struggling because of Bush. They conveniently ignore the fact that most of these clients of subprime lenders bought houses they could not afford, gambling on rates actually FALLING from historic lows. Three lessons here: 1) Don't buy more than you can afford, 2) Don't gamble with your home, and 3) You can blame others as much as you want, but at the end of the day the responsibilty will end up in your own lap.
So back to your question. I don't think the country is bad off, but I think the congress is totally out of control. They politicize EVERYTHING and make no decisions without thinking first of how it affects their reelection. They wallow in massive amounts of lobbyist cash, and then point fingers when someone else accepts a token gift. The fringe left wants to remove God from everything, but then stands up in church pulpits to campaign, using God's house as a big billboard. They are shameless, and I'm glad I won't be spending eternity with them.
So will a new president make America better? Only if he can fire the congress.

Not unless a miracle happens. The presidents has some powers but it's we the people who have the real power if we would just use it. We need a total re-direction of government. Our government treats us like ugly red headed step children but they do need our money. We so need less government. When government took over education it has gone down hill they (politicians) on one side say we need more money! Yet we have thrown more money into the bureaucracy that runs education then ever before with worse results. Why? Becaise the tax money or the bulk of it never gets to where it was supposed to. Some geek in a designer suit who knows nothing about education is getting paid to decide who gets what peice of the pie. Not by their attributes but by what they can do for him. It's a nightmare. Government is not set up to run our personal lives. And shame on us for letting them do it!

The gov't has operated the same way more or less forever the politicians have been the same way since Washington the difference now a days is the media they spin and make so much out of nothing then the politicians try to capitalize on the stories take the media out of the spin mode and just report the facts let the people make up their minds instead of being sheep.

With each new President comes a set of problems, I have no idea who the next President will be according to the polls it looks like it may be Rudy (which shocks me for some reason) but you can guarantee no matter who it is we will have a new set of problems. Our government does not work together, if a Republican is currently running things the Dems work against him and if a Democrat is running things the Reps work against him..... If we could put all politics aside and work as a team we may be able to solve some of the issues that currently plague us... Don't hold your breath

Americans need to elect a government. You didn't do that in 2000. Supreme Court did.
Americans need to hold their congress accountable. That won't happen without serious reforms. And the US government is too corrupt to reform from within.
America needs a revolution. OR its just business as usual.
