I was just about to answer Prismacolor Markers when I saw that Persiphone had already suggested it. They are vivid and blendable if you happen to have the blending marker.

Are your drawings on vellum? I always render with Prismacolor markers. I use tissues, cotton swabs and a bottle of rubber cement thinner to thin down my colors and make them more watercolory ... you can also try chalk pastels, but I find it messy. If your drawings arent on vellum, you may have a problem. Test your paper and make sure it doesnt absorb color and spread. C.
