yah theres a woodpecker on my moms chimney at the apartment & it pecks & it sounds like clinging metal!!!its driving me & my mom crazy!!!how can we make it stop?my mom was suggesting she trys to squirt it with the cat water bottle but she thinks it wont reach. iwas thinking we can chuck rocks up there but then i thought i dont want to hurt the poor thing so what can we use or do?no wierd or stupid things please!!!its serios!!!^-^!!!

you can buy a fake plastic owl and put it near the chimney, that will scare it away .

Buy an owl statuette with a bobbing head and post it out in the yard in the area of the chimney. Woodpeckers don't like owls.

i dont know if you can get up there, but maybe ask your landlord to do this but most people use owls to get rid of unwanted birds around windows and ledges around the tops of their homes. go to a garden caenter and purchase an owl statue and ask someone to put it up somewhere near or around your chimney. smaller city birds will stay away because they think the owl is real.

Yeah, maybe just a handfull of fine rocks. I had one. You just have to keep bothering them until they find a different place. They are very noisy.
Don't shoot it with a bb gun as some are on the endangered species list and you go to jail... not simple crime but federal crime.
