Okay tryouts are march 26-30 the actual tryout day is the 30 what can i do to repare this week?
I Tried out for the jr high cheerleading last year and everybody and i mean EVERYBODY told me i was really good and was surprised when i didn't make it.
people told me i woun't make it this year and i want to prove them wrong
what can i do to practice this week

As a past high school and college cheerleader, and a current coach I would suggest that you find out what the requirements will be.

Will you need to learn a choregraphed routine?
Will you need to perform any stunts/tumbling/jumps?
Will you need to "make up a cheer"?

it appears as though you are have a 3 day "workshop" with the 4th day being tryouts. This generally means that you will be taught some cheers and chants, possibly a dance that you will need to master before tryout day.

Take a video camera to this"workshop" and video tape the instructor. You can then take this home and work on your moves at your own pace. BELIEVE ME, THIS GOT ME THROUGH MANY MANY TRYOUTS!

You may need to do cartwheels, roundoffs, back handsprings. Work on those if they are required, if they aren't ....don't waste precious time trying to perfect them.

Jumps are always judged. We require 3: Toe touch, herkie and one other of the girls choice. You can practice these for form and height. MORE IMPORTANT TO HAVE GOOD FORM THAN HIGH!

On try out day, eat a good complex carb breakfast. Go to tryouts with your hair in a ponytail / off of your face, little or no make-up and no jewelry. Let them know that you are a serious contender and not there for a beauty contest. Do some relaxation breathing right before you perform. Go in with confidence and energy! Do your best!
