Maybe you should try explaining to them why you want to play. Take them to a game and let them see what is going on. Hockey is an awesome sport. My 6 yr. old son started last summer and is really enjoying it. It's really hard to say that I am worried abot him getting hurt in just hockey. He can get hurt on the play ground at school, playing with the dog or walking down the sidewalk. I don't know your age or if you have played any other sports but you may use that to help plead your case (example: "I played soocer and was never hurt" you get the picture). I think team sports help build character plus you can build some great relationships. The only other thing they might be concerned about is the price is cost to play. Maybe you could offer to do some extra chores or something to show you are willing to work for it. You can check with the NHL team where you live to see if they offer any programs for new comers. That is how my son got started. Here in Texas the Dallas Stars offer a program that allowed him to try hockey for 5 weeks at no cost. They supplied him with all the equipment and everything. All we had to do was show up. At the end of the program they offered a package deal to help him get started. For $400 he received all equipment (skates, pads, jersey, helmet, mouth guard, socks, shorts, equipment bag, and stick) plus 8 weeks of skate school and 16 weeks of hockey school. Do some research and show your parents how serious you are about this. Hopefully they will get over the "our little girl will get hurt" thing and let you play. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take them to a game. You also have to remember that it's not only the injury concern, the pads are super expensive, too. I played hockey when I was younger. Now, I can't even afford a decent stick. But, anyway, take them to a game and show them what's involved. Just don't be closed minded and tell them not to be either. Best of luck!

confident yet are you able to have the money for the dental plan. (jk, jk) perhaps in case you went to three video games with them to observe. Have them communicate over with the mothers and dads of another gamers on the gang. there is no longer something like a hockey mom (keep in mind how a lot of you voted for one) to cajole yet another mom that this could be a competent sport. there is no longer something you are able to say or do which will replace their minds, yet somebody who has been of their shoes can help. stable good fortune.

I had wanted to play hockey all my life since 1st grade and in 6th grade when my mom was gone one week i begged my dad, and i said: they dont check, its fun, i wont play in a boy's league, and i just wanted to try it

and he said yes, so just be persistent, and ask them to just try it,

i have played for 4 years now and i love it, and not once have i gotten hurt

good luck with that!

might I suggest taking them to a game at a local arena where the girls hockey league plays and show them how much fun the other girls are having and how clean and safe the game is and maybe that will help your cause. after that explain to them that its something you want to do and you really want their support in doing it.

Tell them your bleeding, when they're both in the bathroom, step out and barricade the door!!! Go play hockey. By the time they get out, you'll have an NHL contract, and they won't be able to stop your momentum!!!!!

just keep trying and maybe you already have enough money to play hockey without your parents permission.
