Why does this sound like a homework assignment? Try the fall of Isengard and Gandalf's negotiations with Sauramon. Another good one would be the reactions of the Hobbits when they return to the Shire, especially when comparing their earlier opinions and attitudes-don't forget to consider the Hobbits who did not leave on the adventure.

To Add to kevin K's answer- Think about the Hobbits different reactions when they first meet Strider in the Prancing Pony. Should they trust him or not?
Also, the fellowship is devided as to which route they should follow to Mordor when they first set out from Rivendell.
Gimbly the dwarf wants to travel through the Mines of Moria and Gandalf over the Mountains. In the end the burden of deciding lies with Frodo.
