So far, astronomers have not found enough matter and dark matter to cause the universe to contract. It should go on expanding forever.

According to measurements the universe is expanding. At least today. I think nobody can prove it is contracting as it is not true.
The only question is whether this expansion is for ever or one day it will stop and the universe will contract and fall back into the initial condensed matter - the so called Big Shrink. The are huge discussions in academy whether there is enough matter to stop the universe expansion. As far as I know, there is no final conclusion

The universe is a finite entity so one day it will go out of existence.
The idea that it is in a state of accelerated expansion implies that it must in some way be able to expand forever.
Even it is in a state of diminishing density it would have to decelerate eventually.
the Hubble constant may be interpreted incorrectly due to errors in estimating extreme distances..
The red shift could as easily interpreted as a contracting universe, which would make more sense.
The activity at the center of galaxies could be the cause of a red shift that is mistakenly interpreted a expansion

What we see is an increasing universe. yet, the sunshine from the farthest reaches of the universe took 15 billion years to get right here. So, the universe might have stopped increasing and commenced contracting, even in spite of the shown fact that it will be a mutually as before we are in a position to work out it going on, assuming we are living various billion extra years.

I'm not sure if it really helps. The theory should be supported by experimental results. Apparently observations are supporting the expanding universe. Unless you interpret the observations in a different way and show that current interpretations of observations are not correct.

Doesn't know about mathematics and is going to 'prove' something. How delightfully droll.
Have you read Steven Hawkings book, "A Short History of Time"?
You really should.

actually the univeres is not only expanding but the expansion is accelerating. everywhere astonomers look, all the galaxies are rushing away from eachother at ever increasing speeds. and all those books people suggested from steven hawking, are OK but if you really want to read good books on astronmomy and cosmology, read anything by timmothy ferris, his books are much more clear and give far better explanasions than hawkings books...good luck, hope this helps!!!!!!
