It's a sign of weakness to hit a girl, unless the girl is way buff. But I think you should definitely punch him if he does it again. Because it's nasty to hit anyone.

I have been in that situation many times in my old age, and unless she is getting really hurt, keep out of it. But, ANY man that has to hurt a girl isn't a man! If this girl is a friend of yours, then it's your responsibility as a friend to talk to her and find out what is going on. Then, the decision is easier. Good Luck !!

Maybe you could talk to him calmly about the way hitting girls is non rewarding and if he still acts bad report him, he wouldn't necessarily think it was you that reported him because it has already gone on for some time by the sounds of it.

tell your friend it aint fair or right and if he was taught something he would know that boys shouldnt hit girls and if he dosent stop you tell the girl to kick his butt and if that dosent work then you punch him

You should tell him not to do it.Violence ain't gonna solve anything.If he keeps doing it,tell him to get help,if it doesn't work no matter how much you care fro your friend call the police on him.In other word charge him for assault.
